Yes. Aloaka Care Centre offers ageing in place and ensures your needs are met whilst preserving your individuality and independence.
Aloaka Care Centre caters for all levels of care, including those living with the effects of dementia. We can discuss with you, your representative (if any) and your medical practitioner (if appropriate) the consequences of your changing care needs.
No – there is no MSU. Our Memory Support Unit provides additional security for care recipients with a cognitive impairment. Suites have been designed to cater for care recipients living with dementia, while specialist carers have designed activities to assist those with dementia, an emotional illness or a cognitive impairment.
Trained carers are on duty 24/7 with the support of registered and enrolled nurses to cater for care recipients needs as they arise.
All care recipients are free to use their own doctor or any other health professional that agrees to visit on a regular basis, is willing to provide us with the required documentation and pharmacy needs and will arrange to provide you with cover in the event of an emergency. Care recipients are required to meet any costs their doctor may apply.
Yes, allied health professionals including dieticians, physiotherapists, podiatrists and speech pathologists visit Aloaka Care Centre as required.
Hairdressers regularly visit Aloaka Care Centre.
Absolutely, we encourage connecting with family and friends. Your family will need to arrange this with a phone provider.
Yes, and you can furnish and decorate your room to make it your home.
Absolutely, you can bring items which are important to you, however there may be some limitations with large furniture and/or appliances.
Each resident is allocated a single room, however, where practical, some couples have utilised one of the rooms as a bedroom and one as a lounge room.
Yes, all rooms have an ensuite bathroom.
Yes, we can cater for all dietary requirements. Our nutritious and delicious menus are prepared onsite by our own chef. A dietician is also available to review the dietary needs of care recipients.
Aloaka Care Centre has a bus for outings and local shopping trips, in addition to regular bus outings which are organised by the onsite lifestyle coordinator.
If you wish to go out with family and friends, there is a pick-up area located in the accessible area. Please remember to let the Sundale team know you are going out and when you will return.
Friends and family are welcome to visit at any reasonable hour. Our reception hours are Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm. To visit after reception hours there is a call bell at the front administration building for visitors to ring
