For the people who live in a Sundale community or receive support at home, feeling welcome often comes down to the small things. A familiar face, a thoughtful conversation or knowing someone has taken the time to listen can make a real difference.

Those everyday moments are created by people, which is why Sundale has launched the Sunny Awards, a new recognition and service awards program celebrating the individuals and teams who help bring Sundale’s values to life.

The awards recognise contributions across Care, Connection and Creativity, as well as leadership, customer experience and operational excellence.

Sundale Chief People Officer Mel Duffey said the awards were an opportunity to acknowledge the people who shape the experience of residents, customers and families every day.

“Our team is the heart of Sundale. They are the ones who bring warmth and comfort to every home and every interaction,” Mel said.

“The Sunny Awards are designed to celebrate the people who actively live our values of Care, Connection, and Creativity.”

The launch comes one year after Sundale introduced its refreshed ‘feel at home’ brand. The approach was shaped by feedback from customers, team members and the wider community.

Over the past 12 months, that idea has extended well beyond a new look. Sundale has brought its retirement living, in-home care and residential aged care communities under one direction, rebuilt its website, launched Sundale Life Magazine and continued to focus on decisions that support residents, customers and their families.

Chief Executive Officer Cameron Taylor said the past year had been about turning a brand promise into an everyday experience.

“Rebranding is easy when it lives in a design concept, but it only matters when it translates into how someone actually feels when they walk through our communities, receive the Sundale Way experience, or put on their new uniform for a shift,” Cameron said.

“Building a lasting brand isn’t about marketing noise, it’s about consistency. We’re deeply grateful to our frontline teams, community, employees, and our Board for turning a brand promise into something real and lived over the past year.”

Today, more than 800 people are part of Team Sundale across the Sunshine Coast, helping create places and experiences where people feel known, respected and at home.

The Sunny Awards are another way to recognise that contribution and celebrate the people who make moments of care, connection and belonging possible every day.

Congratualtions to all the finalists. Winners announced shortly.
