Sundale's wonderful volunteers

Sundale’s wonderful volunteers

Published: 26 August 2020

Volunteers are the heartbeat of most communities and Sundale is no different. However, the ongoing and evolving COVID-19 situation at Sundale means our care recipients, residents and team members haven’t been able to enjoy the remarkable friendship and support of our volunteers recently.

There is no denying Sundale is a stronger, kinder and more vibrant organisation because of our amazing volunteers, with many supporting the organisation for more than three decades.

Sundale’s volunteers are part of a 70,000+ strong national volunteer group who support more than 1.3 million older Australians who receive home and residential care services.

There has been countless flow on affects of managing the threat of COVID-19 at Sundale, and one unfortunately has been pausing our volunteer programs, however I can’t wait to welcome our volunteers back to Sundale when the COVID-19 situation passes.

When that day arrives, our volunteers will notice a few changes which will be implemented to protect the health and wellbeing of the entire Sundale community.

These measures will include the need for an up-to-date seasonal flu vaccination and training about infection control.

If you can spare a few hours a week or would like to play an active role in the Sundale community when the COVID-19 situation passes, we’d love to hear from you.
